Associate Provost for Interprofessional Health Initiatives

Dr. Meg Zomorodi is the Associate Provost for Interprofessional Health Initiatives.

Dr. Zomorodi oversees Interprofessional Health Initiatives (IHI), which includes the Office of Health Professions Advising, the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice, Relational Leadership @ Carolina and UNC Rural. In this role, Dr. Zomorodi seeks to align the strategy and mission of the various units to support the University’s role in service of advancing health and well-being in our state through community-campus partnerships. Her IHI team members include Deputy Director for Interprofessional Health Initiatives Ryan Nilsen, Executive Director for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice Nicki Reitter, Office Manager Aubrey James, and Communications Specialist Gabby Diekmann.

Dr. Zomorodi is a double Tar Heel and began her career as a nurse. She has over two decades of higher education experience focused on interprofessional education and practice. As a Josiah Macy Faculty Scholar, she has developed multiple interprofessional partnerships across units for students, faculty and staff and has a passion for engaging interprofessional teams in rural communities. In 2023, the Rural Interprofessional Health Initiative received the IPEC/COF Excellence in IPE Collaboration Award for pre-health and health professional students engaging with rural communities.
